Jammers Lose 7-1

The Blue Sox scored all of their runs in the top of the 7th and that was all the offense that was needed as the Utica Blue Sox defeat the Jamestown Jammers 7-1. 

The starting pitchers both teams were outstanding. Quinn Taylor (Felician) for the Jammers went 5.2 innings, allowing 0 runs on 2 Hits and striking out 2. The Blue Sox starter Riley Moore (Diablo Valley CC) was the star of the game and was lights out by tossing 8 innings allowing 1 (1Earned) run on 4 hits and striking out 7. 

The Jammers took the lead in the bottom of the 5th by scoring 1 on 2 hits. Skyler Valentine (UTSA) and Alex O’Donnell (Mercyhurst) led the inning off with back to back singles. After a walk to load the bases, Matt Cross (NCCC) grounded out, but Valentine scored to take the 1-0 lead. 

The Blue Sox had an offensive explosion in the top of the 7th by scoring 7 runs on 6 hits to blow the game open and take 7-1 lead. The inning Evan Lee (Ashland) got the inning started with a base hit. After a walk and another single loaded the bases. Kyle Norman (Buffalo) ripped an RBI single, followed by a walk to score another run. A wild pitched added another run and Devon Garcia (Ohio) broke the game open with a 2-run double. The Blue Sox would add 2 more runs on back to back hits to conclude the big inning. After the top of the 7th the Blue Sox took the commanding 7-1 lead. 

The Jammers were unable cut into the lead and that the Blue Sox would on to win 7-1. The Jammers have already clinched 1st place in the West Division, while the Blue Sox are fighting for a playoff spot being 3 out of 4th place coming into tonight.
